      hi!!!

      Carbon Fiber Covers R1 07-08

I picked up the package from Boris. It was well warped within bubble covers and in a long hard carton box.

Boris was kind enough to let me have an adhesive silicon tube after i asked him for one.

The carbon quality once out of the box is immediately noticed and its quite high standarts.

The carbon has to be twill, since its big chunks of fabric and he uses a generous quantity of clearcoat of it. The inside of the cover is also painted and coated a bit aswell!.

The installation took a bit of work to make it happen.

On the right side i had to make a bigger hole for the fairing mounting piece to clear out.

On the left side i had to make the same plus i had to enlarge the hole where the ramair plastic pin grabs.

On both sides i had to remove those nice ramair outlets via dremmel that interfere with the ramair rubber hosing. I also did some modification on the cover where it slued through under the radiator's frame mounting bolt.

It needs some preparing and i wish it was ready-from-box, but its not something i wasnt anticipating, like it happens in most if not all carbon/ fiberglass parts.

I used some mild color disolver on a rag to pass over the frame and clean it, and i did a fast pass aswell on the inside of the carbon cover.

Before you start preparing the cover with adhesive, install tireups across the frame on various parts of the cover to fasten it when you put it on.

This is another process that takes some time to complete and will need some ingenuity with double/triple tireups and some slick hands to pass them through.

Them followed the adhesive which takes some time again to complete. Its adviced to cut some of the front of the cone the silicon comes through, inorder to make the pouring hole larger and speed up the process.

Apply a generous amount on the inside, and take good care to have enough for the sides.

Put the covers on the bike fixing the top and moving to the botom. Dont worry about the adhesive, it takes time to work, so you got time to work with your tire ups.

Once secured with the wraps, shoot as many fotos as you can and make sure its seen and producing envy from your friends. Any indifferent behaviors from your friend can be entitled as "hidden envy" aswell :)

      Enjoy, Chop
